He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Clyde Smith, Sr. and Clara Loucetta McKnight Smith; and his brother Dr. Thomas Smith. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Brignac Smith; his children, Rufus III (Julie) of Charlotte, N. C., Karen Lisenby of Dothan, Simonne Gallaty (John) of Denver, CO and Germaine Mirmelli (Jon) of Scottsdale, AZ; his granddaughters, K'Lea (Jeff), Brianna, Bonnie Lee, Alexandra, Jessica and Cameron; his great grandchildren, Crawford, Turner and Rhodes; and his sister Linda Ann Poyner of Dothan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
