He is survived by: his wife Sandra A. Stokes of Dothan; his children, Deborah Lynn Stokes McIlvaine (Robert) of Hinsdale, IL and David Lewis Stokes, Jr. (Lorri) of Dothan; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jones, Mackenzie McIlvaine, Graham McIlvaine, Andie Lee Stokes, Keely Anne Stokes, Abigail Stokes, Brody Stokes, Skylar Rayne Stokes, Bayley Blackmon, Sydney Koumell and Brook Thames; his great grandchildren, Pippa Jones, Aimsley McIlvaine and Ana Thames; his sisters, Mary Rabon (Jim) of Irmo, SC and Sylvia Dauksch (Paul) of Orlando, FL; his sister-in-law Diane Stokes of Orlando, FL; and his close friends, Celia and Jim McKee of Stevenson, AL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dothan Animal Shelter.
