He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilliam Davie Carpenter and Willie Pearl (Scott); his brother-in-law Rodney Williams; his brother Carlton; and his sister-in-law Kathy Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Freddie Carpenter; his children, Gaines Bruce Carpenter (Amanda) of Tallahassee, FL, Bobby Gilliam Carpenter (Keila) of Tallahassee, FL, Jena Anderson (Dan) of Andalusia, AL and Casey Johnston (Bryan); his stepdaughter Wendi Mills Vergos of Daphne, AL; his grandchildren, Alexis Miller (Kenyon), Bryce Carpenter of Tallahassee, FL, Will Anderson, Drew Anderson of Andalusia, AL, Draven Quinn (Nick) of Birmingham, AL and Kylie Johnston; his stepgrandchildren, Trystan Skelton of Auburn, AL, Cameron Vergos of Daphne, AL and Riley Elson of Tallahassee, FL; his great grandchild Landon Miller of Tallahassee, FL; and his siblings, Terry Carpenter of Ozark, AL, Katrine Williams of Dothan, AL and Paula Brooks (Gerald) of Havana, FL..
