He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lander Tew and Alice Altha Walker Tew; his daughter Ann Moring Tew; his wife Frances Champion Tew; his son-in-law Ricky Taylor; and his siblings, Annie Mae Money, Lela Rash, Myrtle Hand, Hubert Tew and Herschel Tew.

He is survived by: his children, Debra Ash (Bill) of Cowarts, AL, Tammy Taylor of Columbia, AL and Gary Tew (Cathy) of Cowarts, AL; his stepdaughter Bonnie Hobster (Ed); and his grandchildren, Heath Hughes, Shane Ash (Stacey), Amber Sims (Britt), Jennifer Taylor, Mandy Fennell (Trae), Beth Wisor, Heather Toro (Nathan) and Alyssa Dean (Wes).
