James Edward Hicks Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on February 20, 2026, at the age of 80, James Edward Hicks of Dothan, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank J. Hicks and Francis Hicks; his former wife Nita Norman Hicks; and his daughter Erin Kathleen Hicks. He is survived by: his wife Leslie Harkins Hicks of Dothan; his children, Amy Hardee (Justin) of Auburn and Joshua Hicks (Lisa) of Dothan; his stepchildren, Meredith Rich (Jimmy) of Dothan, Mason Hall of Huntsville and Madeline Barfield (James) of Marianna, FL; his grandchildren, Cooper, Kate, Abigail Hardee of Auburn, J. T. and Bennett Barfield of Marianna; his siblings, Don Hicks (Pat), Shirley Hayes and Susan Maslanka; and his siblings-in-law, Steve, Hilda Norman, Bill, Lei Norman, Reba Norman, Jane and Bob Sutton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
