In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy James leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Thomley and Myrtle Reeves Thomley. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Ann Stephens Thomley of Wicksburg; his daughter Melinda Sherrod (John) of Dothan; his grandchildren, Jessica Sherrod of Knoxville, TN and John Sherrod Jr. of Dothan; his sisters, Brenda Herndon (Don), Wanda McSween and Cathy Brown (Bill); and his brother-in-law Larry Stephens (Diane).
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Honeysuckle Church of Christ (986 Honeysuckle Rd, Dothan, AL 36305).
In lieu of flowers, Wallace requested that donations be made to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice of Dothan or the American Heart Association.
