He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Ray and Eutha Widener Smith; his grandparents, W. A. and Emily McNeil Smith; his wife JoAnne Smith; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Barrentine Adams, Marcia Baxley, Kenny Barrentine and Donnie Bolin; and his siblings-in-law, James David Baxley and Janie Spivey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Leisa Pitchford (Glen) of Rehobeth and Sherryl Quast (Randy Hays); his siblings, Ronald Smith of Wicksburg, Gary Smith (Judy) of Jacksons Gap and Nancy Barrentine (Robert) of Taylor; his brother-in-law Don Spivey of Fadette; his grandchildren, JoAnna Pitchford, Whitney Barron (Samantha), Holli Fuller (Justin), Emily Strickland (Trapper Bell) and Lindsey Wilson (Travis); and his great grandchildren, Cameron Turner, Logan McConnell, Julianna Fuller, Ivey Jo Barron, Jonah Fuller, Ever Wilson, Josie Fuller and Birdie Bell.
A reception will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Glover Funeral Home and Crematory (1468 Hartford Hwy, Dothan, AL 36301). Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
