Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John Craig Jr. of Dothan, Alabama, born in Birmingham, Alabama, who passed away at the age of 89, on August 23, 2020. He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Craig, Sr. and Adell Craig (Adams); and his sister Mary Nell Brown. He is survived by: his wife Betty Craig; his children, Eva Jackson (Mickey), Lisa Winborn (Mark), Lori Beumer (Scott), David Forrester (Katherine) and Keith Forrester (Jennifer); and his sister Catherine Meadors. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

“I had the pleasure of coming to know John Craig through the Neighborhood Watch program. The Hamilton Hills subdivision was the first Dothan community to join the program and Mr. Craig was with me every step I took guiding my community in this endeavor. He was without doubt the wisest man I have ever known. He continued to come to my aid even after he left his position as commissioner. I will miss him and his compassionate wisdom. My condolences to his wife and family.”
