He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend A. G. Thomas and Katie Spikes Thomas; his grandson Jonathan Alec Thomas; and his siblings, Raimon Gordon Thomas, Ralph Thomas, James Addis Thomas, Joseph Miles Thomas, Michael Angus Thomas, William Adger Thomas, Margaret Thomas Smith and JoAnn Thomas McDaniel.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Cobb Thomas; his sons, Gregory Paul Thomas (Beth) and Jonathan Wesley Thomas, MD; his granddaughters, Meghan Rae Thomas and Mary Emma Hawley; and his brother Sherwood Thomas (Betty). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
