He was predeceased by : his stepmother Flois Grimes; his mother Mary Esther Tillman Vaughn; and his stepfather Howard Vaughn. He is survived by : his wife Martha Hayes Grimes of Dothan; his sons, Steve Grimes of Dothan and Scott Grimes of Dothan; his brothers, Judson Vaughn (Peggy) of Herdon, VA and Jim Vaughn (Cathy) of Louisburg, NC; and his sister-in-law Minna Appleby of Dothan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
