She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Grady Farmer and Mary Ellen Farmer (Spivey); her former husband James David Avant; her husband Bill; and her brothers, Jim Farmer and Joe Farmer.

She is survived by: her children, Allison (Avant) and David Blake Avant (Jennifer Alvarado Avant); her grandchildren, Melinda (Mindy Mims) and Phillip Thomas Quinn (Rachel Goodson Quinn); and her great grandchildren, Gabrielle Leigh Warden, Juliana Marie Warden, Andrew Trent Warden and Zoey Rose Quinn.
