We announce the death of Matthew Ryan Grinstead of Dothan, Alabama, who passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 48. Matthew will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Wes (Pop) and Dolores Grinstead (Granny); and his cousin Townsend Thomas. He is survived by: his parents, Dana Eidson and Michael Eidson; his uncle Tim; his children, Brooklyn, Bryant and Brett Grinstead; his brother Ross Eidson (Kasey); his nieces, Harper and Addie Eidson; his sister Madeline Buchanan (Judson); his niece Birdy Buchanan; and his grandparents, Wayne and Mary Nell Eidson. He is also survived by numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home and Crematory (1700 Barrington Rd, Midland City, AL 36350). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
