She was predeceased by: her parents, Susie Carter (Hudspeth) and Jim Carter; her husband Brady Jackson; and her siblings, Mary Eva Blythers, Alice Griffin, Jinny Kincey, JC Carter and AC Carter.

She is survived by: her daughter Civalyn Jackson; her niece Robin Sowell; her great-nephew Rodney "Santiago" Sowell; and her close friend Ida Ruth Danzy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
