He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Smith and Verlie Smith; and his siblings, Veddie S. Grubbs, Verlie Nelson and Willie Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Lee Smith, Jr. (Latasia) of Dothan, Angie S. Barwick of Kansas City and Ryan D. Smith (Camille) of Parker, Texas; and his sister Eumer Sulene Poindexter of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary (814 Headland Ave, Dothan, AL 36303). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Home Going Celebration. A burial was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at the Sunset Memorial Park (1700 Barrington Rd, Midland City, AL 36350).
