He was predeceased by: his parent W. H. Tew; his brothers, James Tew and John Tew (Betty Lou McMillan); and his daughters, Cynthia Myra Tew Quattlebaum and Teresa Lou Tew.

He is survived by: his children, Betty Linda Tew Friman (Tom) and Talmadge Louis Tew, Jr. (Kathy); and his siblings, Carl Randolph Tew (Ardyeth), Max Tew (Ruthie) and Maxine Tew. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
