He was predeceased by: his parents, John Calvin (Dick) and Aline Crawford Thornell; his wife Lillian Williamson Thornell; his parents-in-law, Raymond and Alma Trawick Williamson; his brothers-in-law, Albert Fox, Lawrence Williamson and Byron Williamson (Linda); and his nephew Morris Williamson.
He is survived by: his children, Sheree Braswell (Bobby) of Cowarts and Phillip Thornell (Donna) of Cowarts; his sisters, Noel Deese (Lamar) of Cowarts and Mary Sue Arnold Fox of San Antonio, Texas; and his brother-in-law David Williamson (Joyce) of Dothan. He is also survived by six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.
