He was predeceased by: his parent Wilbur L. Walton; his sister Ann Walton Waller; his nephew Hal Knox Waller, III; his great-nephew Randell Gordon Nichols, Jr. (Descendants); his niece Melissa Waller Nichols; his great-niece Ann Walton Knox Nichols; and his caregivers, Betty and Carl Adams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to The Walton Garden;.
