It is with sadness that the passing of Valerie Eskew Daniel of Elberta, Alabama is shared. Valerie, born on October 6, 1953 in Augusta, Georgia, passed away on September 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Fussell Eskew and Warner Earle Eskew. She is survived by: her husband Robert Eugene "Gene" Daniel; her children, Lester "Les" Brannen (Jennifer), Brooke Davis (Trey) and Gina Lyn Daniel (Charles); her grandchildren, Daniel, Dyana, Skyla, August, Jude, Lucy Grey and Wells; her great grandchildren, Shawn and Kian; and her sisters, Patrice Eskew Boyd (Brooks) and Deborah Eskew Scott (Douglas). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pine Rest Funeral Home (16541 US-98, Foley, AL 36535). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Cure PSP in Val's memory.

Margaret Hicks lit a candle

“Although it has been years since I last saw Val and hugged her neck, she was always so very special to me. I still smile remembering when she chaperoned a sleepover for my high school friends and me. We asked Val because she was married and “responsible”.... even though she was only four years older than us! Ha! :) I will always remember her wonderful sense of style, her beautiful smile, and the joy she brought with her. She will be deeply missed. Sending all of you so much love and prayers.”
