He was predeceased by: his grandparents, C. B. and Allene Norris Powell, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Annelyse Paradis Powell; his parents, Carroll Ben Powell Jr. (Susan Powell) of Dothan, AL and Peggy Maksin (Joe Maksin) of Tabernacle, NJ; his sibling Lauren Trerotola (Jason); his stepsiblings, Colleen Maksin (Kevin), Laura Armstrong (Daniel) and Ross Armstrong (Nadia); his grandparents, Wendell and Purita Coleman of Vacaville, CA; and his pets, Zeus and Eggo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in his honor to the Navigators Discipleship Program (navigators.org), Eagle Lake Camps (eaglelakecamps.com), or to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund (321 Homewood Avenue, Troy, AL 36081).
