Billye Morgan Obituary
Billye J. Morgan of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Friday, May 1, 2020. Billye lived eighty-nine wonderful years, blessed with a large and loving family, and passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Billye was preceded in death by her husband, with whom she shared sixty-one incredible years, John Rodgers Morgan, Sr.; her parents, Walter Hinton and Lorene Hundley Waters; and her great-granddaughter, Carolina Alma Peacock.
Billye was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by a number of loving family who miss her but know how blessed they are to have spent their lives with Billye. These survivors include her children, Deborah Morgan Lane of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Susan Morgan Byrd of Enterprise, Alabama, Dianne Morgan Sims (Winkler) of Hoover, Alabama. Having been blessed with three daughters, Billye was looking forward to a granddaughter. Billye's surviving grandchildren include, Garrett Lane (Nikki) of Columbia, South Carolina, John Rodgers Morgan III (Christina) of Enterprise, Alabama, Arlo Mitchell Peacock (Yasmin) of Arlington, Virginia, William Parsons Morgan (Roseanna) of Enterprise, Alabama, Christopher Morgan Lane (Aleshia) of Atlanta, Georgia, Justin Wesley Peacock of Bellwood, Alabama, Zachary Winkler Sims (Kate) of Birmingham, Alabama, Casey Carlton Sims of Helena, Alabama (Finally her granddaughter after seven grandsons, the author wonders if she was beginning to question whether granddaughters actually existed). With eight grandchildren, Billye was also loved by an astounding seventeen surviving great-grandchildren, Dannah and John Hinton Lane, Kaleigh Smith (Tyler), Kinsley, Caroline (born on Billye's birthday) and Ashley Morgan; Nerissa, Dominic (Kyah), Donovan, Victor and Billye (her namesake) Peacock, John and Victoria Morgan, Nathaniel Peacock, Olivia and Hope Lane, and Henry Sims. Billye is also survived and loved by her brother, Byron Milton Waters, and other relatives.
The members of Billye's family who truly loved her would like to thank her caregiver Christi Snell, whom we believe truly loved Billye and afforded us the opportunity to remind Billye that we did as well.
Due to current circumstances, Billye's loving family plans to gather to celebrate Billye's life and each other at a time to be determined.
*As a footnote, in addition to the incredible twenty-nine loving family members listed above, Billye is also survived by her son, John Rodgers Morgan, Jr. of Chelsea, Alabama (temporarily if history is any indication). To aid the reader's identification of Billye's son, as many may be unfamiliar with him due to his long absences from her life as both a fugitive from justice and, on those occasions when they caught him, a resident of the criminal justice system in several states, he has also been known at various times as Rodger, John, Dennis Kanouse (the author's personal favorite) and currently as Rodgers. These frequent name changes may cause confusion but is likely helpful when attempting to avoid the consequences of the multiple frauds you have committed. It is difficult to list a spouse for Billye's son as he has had so many. Therefore, the author invites the reader to select their favorite and insert the name here (______).
**The author would have preferred to have omitted Billye's son from this obituary entirely. While tradition and biology required his inclusion, morality, decency and decorum suggested that it be as a footnote.
