He was predeceased by: his wife Sara; his children, Karen and Captain Joe Harrell Williams, Jr. (Hal); his parents, J. T. Williams and Annie Maude Williams; and his siblings, Hastel Williams (Anne) and Geraldine Gilmore (Clyde).
He is survived by: his son Colonel Thomas Lee Williams (Ashley); and his grandsons, Noah Thomas and Carson Luke Williams. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
