He was predeceased by: his parents, Arch Davis and Evelyn Mae Walls Owen; his former wife Margie Owen; his children, Glen Hardy, Sherri Hardy Gibson, John Truett Owen, Jr. and Chris (Leah); and his grandchildren, Miller and Mallory Walls.
He is survived by: his siblings, Carolyn Schocke and Bob Owen; his wife Betty Carroll Owen; his sons, Ricky Hardy and Russell Walls (Sonya); his grandchildren, Kevin Vanbuskirk (Vanessa) and Kyle Vanbuskirk; his sisters, Nancy Gardner and Martha Szabo; and his sister-in-law Peggy Carroll Stroud.
