He is survived by: his wife Janice Panetta of Enterprise; his son Joseph Merritt (Michelle) of Washington; his brother Armando Panetta of New Jersey; and his grandchildren, Morgan Merritt and Harley Merritt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the HighPointe Church (90 Co Rd 539, Enterprise, AL 36330). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
