He was predeceased by: his father Charles Shepard Newman. He is survived by: his wife Joan Newman of Enterprise, AL; his mother Voncile Newman of Andalusia, AL; his sisters, Lucy Newman Thompson (Charlie) of Birmingham, AL, Patsy Newman Faull (John) of Branson, MO and Janet Newman Duckett (Rob) of Atlanta, GA; his niece Holly Thompson Jones (Jonathan) of Birmingham, AL; and his nephews, Wes Faull of Branson, MO and Justin Faull of Branson, MO. He is also survived by numerous cousins and other family members.
