He was predeceased by : his parents, Ozzie Jones and Ollie Johnson Jones; his wife Carol Jones; his daughter Lisa Herring; and his siblings, Wade Jones, Don Jones, Ivan Jones, Linda Jones, MaryAnn Jones, Ann Purvis and Betty Sue Rex.

He is survived by : his children, Mary Jones, Robert Jones Jr. (Laura) and Richard Jones (Christina); and his siblings, Ricky Jones and Vicky Jones. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
