We announce the death of Charlet Cox of Epes, Alabama, who passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Charlet will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Charlet will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Charlet will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Charlet’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Loraine Kyle and Benjamin Hollis Kyle; and her siblings, Evelyn Suttle, Loma June Emanuel, Ellen Lorraine Poole and Charlie Mack Kyle.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Cox; and her son Butch Carter (Margaret Carter). She is also survived by three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as multiple nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sharing memorial contributions with the Wounded Warriors Project, the Tuscaloosa Animal Shelter, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
