He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jetty and Gladys Inez Griffin McLain; his siblings, J. Roscoe McLain, J. Lynn McLain, Clarence McLain, Bobby McLain and Florence McLain Hawes; his son Jimmy E. Houston; and his grandson Joshua Kyle Flowers.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Maxine Sinquefield McLain; and his children, Mack Houston (Deborah) of Clayton, Alabama, Debbie Houston Childs (Harlan) of Eufaula, Becky McLain Horton of Eufaula and Jennifer McLain Utley (Steven) of Eufaula, Alabama. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
