He was predeceased by: his parents, E. R. Day and Estelle Day; and his siblings, D. C. Day, Leon Day, Edwin Day and Juanita Pritchett.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Day; his daughter Cindy Johnson (Jeromy); his grandchildren, James Gay IV (Amanda), Catherine Gay, Sara Ann Johnson, Jesse Johnson and Jada Charles; and his great grandchildren, Peyton and Hunter Anderson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted, but if you prefer to make a donation to the charity of your choosing, a few of his favorites were St. Jude's Children Hospital, Children's Hospital of Alabama, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Greene County Ambulance service and Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery fund of Ralph AL.
