She was predeceased by: her husband John; her parents, Virgil Childers and Pauline Childers; and her sisters, Inez Jarrett and Imogene Estes.
She is survived by: her daughter Cynthia Kelly; her son-in-law Sean Kelly; her granddaughter Caitlin Kelly; and her siblings, Joyce Latham Cook (Bob) and James Childers (Patty).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Peck Funeral Home (1600 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider a donation to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens in memory of Virgie.
