He was predeceased by : his wife Norma J. Godwin; his parents, Wherry Dudley Godwin Jr. and Jessie Mae Murphy Godwin; and his children, Dudley Lynwood Godwin Jr., Angela Kaye Godwin and Jessica Nicole Godwin.

He is survived by : his children, Clint Godwin and Diana Bergman (John); and his siblings, Nelson Godwin (Doris) of Montgomery, Janice McKenzie of Tampa, FL and Annie Ruth Smith of Montgomery. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
