He is survived by: his wife Nancy Miller Melton; his children, Nancy Dudley Melton Berry (Tyler) of Franklin and Richard Plowden Melton (Jennifer) of Tuscaloosa; and his grandchildren, Lathram Olivia Berry, Tyler Rieves Berry (Tori), Mary Dudley Berry, Lee Miller Melton and Virginia Catherine Melton.
