Archie Oden Obituary

Archie was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 12, 1934 to Mr. and Mrs. Ocie and Vernal Irvin Oden, Sr. becoming the first of six children born to this union. He was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System, graduating from Fairfield Industrial High School Class of 1952. He was a former employee of Don Drennen Buick and Birmingham Transit Authority.

He was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Fairfield where he served in several ministries: Deacon, Trustee, and leader of Security. Funeral service will be saturday (21st) at 11:00 AM at his beloved Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with his brother; Pastor O. C. Oden, Jr. officiating and interment in Valhalla Cemetery.

Sweet memories remain with his devoted and loving wife of 64 years; Mary Elizabeth Edwards Oden, his children; Victor (Mary) Oden, Cedric (Wanda) Oden, Phyllis (Herman) Jones and Christina Oden, brothers and sisters; O. C. (Sophfronia) Oden, Jr., James Oden, Robert James, Sr., Ola Oden Cogman and Vernell (Henry) Flannigan, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

His remains will lie in repose on Friday from 1:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
