He was predeceased by : his former life partner Carol Childress; his parents, Lewis Childress and Ellen Childress; his siblings, Catherine Little, John Rix Childress, Fuller Childress and Tweed Childress; and his grandsons, Emery F. Childress III and Garrison Childress.
He is survived by : his wife Pam Childress of Fairhope; his children, Monica Lores (Paul) of Silverhill, Madison Childress of Fairhope, Emery Childress (Amy) of Fairhope, Allen Childress (Kelly) of Daphne and Rodney Childress of Fairhope; and his sisters, Jeanette Wisenant of Cleveland, TX and Lois Layton (Ross) of Fairhope.
