He was predeceased by: his former wife Anne Peele DeLorme Nix. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Margaret Meyers Nix; his children, Vicky Cook (Mike), Phil Nix (Molly) and Susan Tillman (Gene); his grandchildren, Amber Clukey (Buck), Hailey Gulledge (Thomas), Stacy Hines (Thomas), Rachel Ladd (George), Stephen Nix (Andrea) and Sarah Jennings (Chris); and his brother Nolan Nix (Janet).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the James P. NIX Center (1 Bayou Dr, Fairhope, AL 36532). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the University of South Alabama (https://www.givecampus.com), the Parkinson's Foundation, or the Michael J.Fox. Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
