He is survived by: his wife Nellie Canup of Fayette; his daughters, Monica Rainey, Monya Hill and Mawonia Brown; his sisters, Johnnie Pittman and Betty Chasteen; and his nieces and nephews, Kimberly Smith Ingram, Kalissa Smith Bormann, Kenneth Smith, Jeff Miller and Tony Miller. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces.
