With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rebekah Sarah Medders (Fayette, Alabama), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 23, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Rebekah departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Rebekah may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Rebekah leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Barry Medders; her parents, O. R. "Pete" Smith and Minnie Alma Campbell Smith; and her son Charles Douglas Kumpu. She is survived by: her daughter Monica Logsdon (Jaryl); and her grandson Noah Logsdon. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Boley Church of the Nazarene (36 Church Ave, Berry, AL 35546). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at the Boley Community Cemetery.
