He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel J. Grimes and Annie Dill Grimes; his brother James Grimes; his half-brothers, Wilmer and Grady Grimes; and his grandson Russell Gann.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Grimes of Fayette; his daughters, Trisha Strickland of Fayette and Vicki Kimbrell (Mitch) of Birmingham; his sister Eleanor Fields (William) of Gainesville; his grandchildren, Brandon Kimbrell (Marina), Brooke Kimbrell (Nick), Justin Lahay (Ashleigh) and Alana Gurley (Dylan); and his great grandchildren, Riley Brookes, Oliver Gurley, Ravyn Lahay, Luke Brothers and Kayce Gurley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rehobeth Baptist Church (2885 AL-102, Fayette, AL 35555). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
