He was predeceased by : his parents, Katherine Houghtaling Hanawalt and Emerson Eugene Hanawalt. He is survived by : his wife Maranda Sharder Hanawalt; and his children, Curtis Hanawalt (Michele), Tabitha Kearney (Robert), Andrea Dorman (Elijah) and Michael Hanawalt. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
