She was predeceased by: her father James O'Pete Mathis (Mary Moore); her siblings, Peggy Mathis McDonald and Jerry Wayne Mathis; her grandson Ronnie Michael Higdon; and her daughter-in-law Heather Marie Sutton.
She is survived by: her husband Danny Higdon of Flomaton, Alabama; her children, Marcus Wayne Mathis (Cindy) of Century, Daniel Higdon (Sonya) of Flomaton, Alabama and Gidget Dortch (Jeremy); her siblings, James Dooley Mathis (Vivan) of Bay Minette, Alabama, Johnny Mathis (Tina) of Flomaton, Alabama, Evelyn Cozart (Gilbert) of Jay, Florida, Gayle Mathis of Century, Florida and Kathy Mathis Simmons of Jay, Florida; her grandchildren, Ryan Reeves, Cody Mathis, Shae Etheridge, Jakob Higdon and Cadie Higdon; and her great grandchildren, Josie Mathis, Rowdy Etheridge and Emersyn Higdon. She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lighthouse Baptist Church (1070 Twin Bridges Rd, Flomaton, AL 36441). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
