He was predeceased by: his parents, Erastis Edward and Annie Lee Madewell (McCoy); his wife Dorothy Jean Madewell; and his siblings, Ella Vesta VanWinkle and Virble J. C. Madewell.
He is survived by: his sons, Alan Edward Madewell (Margaret) and Jared Lee Madewell (Nancy); and his granddaughter Darby Elizabeth Madewell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
