He was predeceased by: his wife Jonnie Lynn McClure Watkins; his parents, Tommie Lee and Lucy Rhodes Goad Watkins; and his siblings, Doris Elaine Scott, F. D. "Bud" and Tommy Lee Watkins, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Lora Zahnd (Sam) of Ocala, FL, Donna Fowler (Brian) of Florence, AL and Carl Douglas "Jay" Watkins, Jr. of Ocala, FL; his granddaughters, Bailey Fowler and Darby Fowler; and his nieces, Vicky Neese, Annette Parker, Jody Cypert and Chris Golden. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
