He was predeceased by: his mother Julia Allison; his brother Richard Allison; and his former wife Hattie Roberts. He is survived by: his brother John Allison; his wife Faye Allison; his children, Don Allison, Joan Wellman (Jim), Jan Bodenstab (Tim), Julia Shew (Sandy), Carol Colvin and Daryl Randolph (Miranda); his grandchildren, David Wellman (Ashten), Allison Murrow (Mitchell), Nicholas Shew, Owenn Colvin, William, Henry, Charlotte, Mark Randolph and Jadon Eaton; his great grandchild Ember Wellman; his stepchildren, Dennis, Phillip, Dawn and Steve Williams; and his caregivers, Practitioner Troy Henderson and Melissa Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Dr. Donald Lee Allison Ministerial Scholarship Fund at Trevecca Nazarene University, which will allow students from Alabama to follow God's calling on their lives as they pursue a degree in the field of education or religion.
