He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Lovell and Lucille Lovell; his siblings, Doyce Gene Lovell and Linda Jane Lovell; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Ezekiel, Marvin Wilson and Bobby Gray.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lovell; his sons, Jay Lovell (Myra), Chris Lovell, Matt Lovell (Suzanne) and Stephen Lovell (Donna); his grandchildren, Sarah Lovell, Misty Lovell (Patrick), Kimberly Connell (Joey), Jacob Lovell, Patrick Lovell and Joshua Lovell; his siblings, Donna Ezekiel, Jimmy Lovell (Faye) and Levon Lovell (Teresa); and his siblings-in-law, Virginia Lovell, Frances Wilson, Mary Dean Gray and Walter Metcalf. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
