He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Florence Eleanor Parker Cole; his parents, Ralph George Cole and Dorothy Elizabeth Jones Cole; his children, George William Cole Jr. (Karen Pagel), Cynthia Cole Garwick (John Garwick), Richard Steven Cole Sr. (Lydia Kling, RN) and Robert Arthur Cole (Angela White); and his great grandchildren, Ava Hayes, Fitz, Evie James, Caleb, Weston, Eloise and Shea.

His ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) friends were a weekly priority before the Covid pandemic too.
