She was predeceased by: her parents, R. C. "Bob" Highfield and Carnella Highfield; her daughter Bridget Sherrill; her son-in-law Joey Holder; and her grandsons, Ty Sherrill and Nicholas Tackett.
She is survived by: her husband Gene Tackett; her children, Gina Aycock, Kathy Davenport, Bobby Tackett and Russ Tackett; and her sister Benzie Stanfield (Howard). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Greenview Funeral Home (3657 Old Chisholm Rd, Florence, AL 35633). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Greenview Chapel (3657 Old Chisholm Rd, Florence, AL 35633).
