He is survived by: his children, Consuella Hargress (Jamar), Jessica Smith, Pamela Yates, Wanda Yates, Daniel Yates and Michael Yates; his siblings, Devon "Rabbit" Whiteside, Sammie Bates, Fannie Mae Harmon, Vickie Whiteside and Dorothy Whiteside (Craig); his aunt Jacquelyn Moore; his foster sisters, Doris Madde (Patrick), Marylin Ayodele, LaShawna Malone and Linda King; and his friends, James Howard and Larry Bailey. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
