He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Wilkes; and his parents, Julia Berry and Rufus Wilkes. He is survived by: his brother Grant Wilkes; his children, John Wilkes Jr., Donna Wilkes Bogran (Ron) and Paula Wilkes Fuller; his stepchildren, Billy Cummings (Marilyn) and Mitzi Underwood (Tony); his grandchildren, Sean Bogran, Morgan Fuller White, Alexis Huggins, Blake Fuller, Tyler Underwood, Nathan Cummings, Nikki Woods, Kayla Cummings, Cheyenne Blackstock and Dana Coburn; and his sibling's children, David Wilkes, Jason Wilkes and Lya Chowning. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Russel Hill Cancer foundation.
