He is survived by: his wife Daphne Garrett; his daughter Sonya Garrett-Wilson (Brian); his grandson Brian Wilson, II of Harvest, Alabama; his stepdaughter Renee Byrd (Alonzo); his stepgrandchildren, Brieonna Jemison, Amiya Byrd and Jeremiah Byrd; his siblings-in-law, LaShon Rhodes of Birmingham, Alabama, Karen Garrett (Solomon) of Birmingham, Alabama, Sylvia Strothers (Ron) of Birmingham, Alabama, Cynthia Davis of Birmingham, Alabama, Yolanda McNeal of Louisiana and Andrew Rhodes; and his friend Julian Minor (Lisa).
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Thompson and Son Funeral Home (415 S Poplar St, Florence, AL 35630).
