He was predeceased by: his parents, Alcean, Sr. Simpson and Ora Lee Simpson; and his siblings, William Simpson, Michael Simpson, Alcean Simpson Jr., Brenda Watkins, Sherie Simpson and Sherrie Simpson.
He is survived by: his children, Lewis Gamble of Florence, Demetrius Freeman (Lauren) of Florence, Vincent Beckwith of Florence, Joseph Simpson (Chelsea) of Florence, Tonya Brady (Charles), Yakima Chandler (Michael) and LaDdonna (Michael) of Harvest; his siblings, Demetria Liner (David), Randolph Brewer (Geraldine), Linda Gunn, Sharon Busbee (Richard), Dr. Roderick Sheppard (Sharon) and Charles Smith (Myra); his sisters-in-law, Virgina Simpson and Carol Simpson; and his aunts, Jennie V. Cole (Funrow, Jr.) and Betty Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
