She was predeceased by: her husband Everett D. Carter, Jr.; her parents, Alfred McCoy and Verna Sue Rogers McCoy; her son Everett Scott "Scotty" Carter; and her grandson Chris Carter.

She is survived by: her son Guy Carter (Paula); and her siblings, Jimmy McCoy (Marie) and Annette Jackson (Numerous). She is also survived by Numerous nieces & nephews (6) Grandchildren; (12) great grandchildren; (4) great-great grandchildren.
